Directions to Hilldale Retreat

Hilldale Retreat is situated on the Nuwara Eliya – Kandy main road (A5) at the 57 km post. It's just an 18-minute drive from Hilldale Retreat to Nuwara Eliya Town center.

From Nuwara Eliya City Centre
(9 km, 18-minute drive)

Depart Nuwara Eliya City and take the (A5) Road towards Gampola.
Continue on A5: After 6.8 km (approximately 15 minutes' drive), you will reach a Police Check-Point on the A5 Road.
Continue on A5: After another 1.8 kilometers, you will come across Sri Pushparama Temple on your left.
Continue on A5: Stay on the A5 Road for another 200 meters till you see Saman Stores on your left.
You are able to spot Hilldale Retreat on the far mountain to your right.
Continue on A5: Stay on the A5 road for another 80 meters until you see the Hilldale Retreat Sign Board on your right. Turn onto the designated access road into your right-hand side that goes to Hilldale Retreat.

Note: There is a discrepancy between the distance shown on Google Maps from Nuwara Eliya to Hilldale Retreat. If you are coming from Nuwara Eliya City Centre, we propose that you search "Saman Stores, A5, Sri Lanka" through Google Maps.

From Kandy via Gampola
(Google Maps works well)

Depart Kandy and take the (A5) Road towards Nuwara Eliya.
Continue on A5: You will reach the well-known "Damro Tea Factory" near the 55km post on the A5 Road.
Continue on A5: Stay on the A5 road for another 2 km until you see the Hilldale Retreat Sign Board on your left. Turn onto the designated access road into your left-hand side that goes to Hilldale Retreat.
